Ladies & Gents. I’m turning 27 years of age in a few months. Where have the years gone? *stares nostalgically into space*… anyways! I am one of those people who get low-key (extremely) excited about my birthday, and I’ve obviously already started planning (and creating this wishlist).

Please note that this is one hella long post, so please go to the loo, wash hands, and grab some snacks before proceeding.

With that said, here’s my birthday wishlist:

Weekender Bag.

I’m in desperate need of a new weekender bag. Something simple, classy, and in leather obviously. I’m not a light packer, so it should be more like a long-weekend-er bag, if you catch my drift. See my top picks from my fave local brands below:

{wishlist wednesday} FOM - The Franklin in Pecan

{wishlist wednesday} Wellington Leather Company - Travel Bag

Now although all of the above bags are absolutely stunning, they are still not big enough. The majority of them are 50cm or less in width. How is a girl supposed to fit all her shit in there for a full two days? Impossible, I say! Impossible.

This baby on the other hand is practically perfect. Feast your eyes! Just do yourselves a favour and don’t look at the price. You’ll thank me later.

The below bags are not leather, and not necessarily for woman, but how beautiful?! I’d happily add them to my collection:

  1. Macbook Pro.

I’m a designer. I totes need one, obvs. But on a serious note. I’ve had every brand of laptop in my life, and Apple just surpasses all the rest when it comes to my requirements.

  2. iMac.

Same as above, except for at-home purposes.

  3. Bakeware.

Yes, I bake. No, not often, because I lack the resources. This year I want to build up a potent baking-equipment-arsenal to bake all the treats for all the occasions.

  4. A trip oversees.

I mean, who doesn’t want this? Right? I’ll be more than happy with spending a week in Morocco, Greece, Croatia, Turkey, Israel, Reunion Island, Madagascar, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Mexico, Turks and Caicos, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, Poland, Norway, Finland, Iceland… Basically just send me anywhere. But preferably one of the above. Please and thank you.

  5. Books.

Not much to say here. Just give me all the books. Including:
My favourite author, Liz Jensen’s books; I have been able to attain two of her books, The 9th Life of Louis Drax My Dirty Little Book of Stolen Time. I received a Takealot voucher during December, so I actually raced over to their site to buy all her books, to Annemie from Annemie, you know? As luck would have it, they only had the two books which I already own in stock. They are no longer selling the rest. They are, however, available  on Loot. So if you’re planning on surprising me with all of her books, you better get on it! Please and thank you.

Elizabeth Gilbert’s books; The only actual book I own by this author is Big Magic, which is amaze. I’d love to collect all of her books, from Eat, Pray, Love to Pilgrims.

Yuval Noah Harari’s Sapiens, Homo Deus and 21 Lessons for the 21st Century.

Rupi Kaur‘s Milk & Honey and The Sun & Her Flowers.

Anything by Tyler Knott Gregson. His poetry is absolutely beautiful. Also anything by Anaïs Nin, John Green and John Grisham.

I’m always interested in reading about WWII and the holocaust, and one book that looks really intriguing to me is The Choice by Edith Eger. Also, how stunning is the cover?

  6. Pichulik.

When it comes to my hatred of gold, Pichulik is basically one of my only exceptions. Still, I do wish they would give you the option of choosing between gold and silver. Here are a few of my favourite pieces:

    I mean. How absolutely stunning?

  7. A Silver Watch.

I have a couple of watches, but I don’t have a silver one. I prefer links to mesh, but both are beautiful! I’d love something very simple and definitely sans bling.

  8. Silver Jewellery.

My most favourite local jewellery designer is Yellow Jewellery. I have been lusting after her items for years now, and yet I have not acquired any. BUT, let it be known, I will not allow 2018 to pass by without having at least one piece of Yellow Jewellery in my collection!

My #1 favourite:

Yellow Jewellery - Arrow Ring
Yellow Jewellery – Arrow Ring

And #2:

Yellow Jewellery - Square Ring

My favourite collections are definitely the Luna, and then the Line. I also absolutely adore the Golden Years collection, but unfortunate none of it is available in silver.

Coming in at a close second is Dear Rae, another local designer from Cape Town. I am so in love with her silver and brass rings, as they are all very minimal and delicate. Obvs I would want everything in silver, but the silver & brass combinations just work. I would wear the shit out of them."<yoastmark

Dear Rae also has a White Gold and Rose Gold range of rings. The Très Ring is by far one of  the most beautiful ring designs I’ve seen. Have a look:

Matter Of Fakt is also one of my favourite local jewellery designers, but unfortunately the majority of their items are only available in brass.

Then we have Meraki Jewellery. Their items are also stunners, but I defs have a favourite:

Meraki - Onyx Solitair Arch Ring
Meraki – Onyx Solitair Arch Ring

Then we have Mary Jean. My faves listed below:

Mary Jean - Fawo 3 Ring Set

Mary Jean - Masie 3 Ring Set

Other favourites include Famke, Mia, Antique Fusion, Silvery, Pretty Found Things, Jessica Jane, Beaudell, BellaReathe, Lorean, Janine Binneman, Veers, MK Handmade, and Miss H.

A leather jacket.

Because winter is coming.

Leather Boots.

Because a girl can never have too many. Also, because winter is coming.

Cotton Company Towels.

Because look at them!

A Laptop Bag.

This is something I’m in dire need of. My current laptop bag is more like an oversized handbag, which is great, but not great as a laptop bag. I’m looking for something that’s big enough for my  laptop, as well as everything else I need, like my wallet, notebook, stationary, etc.

All-purpose bag for oversees trips.

My main requirement is something with a thick shoulder strap, so this camera bag will be ideal! I’ll just take out all the insides.

Women carry bags on their shoulders for hours on end. Why do only camera bags and nappy bags have thick shoulder straps? Or am I the only one who actually complains about back and shoulder pain from carrying a heavy bag all the time, because of a tiny sling cutting into my shoulder?

A new wallet.

When it comes to wallets I’m suuuper fussy (do you see a pattern?). I want something very specific; a specific shape, and I need lots of card space. I hardly ever carry cash so I’m not fussed with coin space etc, but I have a card for almost every store I go into, so.

The Burgundy Collective - Ladies Zipper

This is lovely, but it needs more card space. Sigh.

FOM - Ladies Wallet in Black
FOM – Ladies Wallet in Black

Also absolutely stunners, but has even less space inside than the first one. SIGH.

New handbags.

I specifically need black and dark brown. I really love the Ava:

FOM - The Ava in Timberland & Toffee
FOM – The Ava in Timberland & Toffee

…even in black!

FOM - The Ava in Black

And that’s pretty much it. For now. Trust me, if I think more I can come up with tons more things, but these are my current most-wanted, most lust-worthy items.

I also need to refer you back to a previous wishlist post, just to show you how much I’ve changed in two years. (I’m not sure if my taste has changed much, but anyways).
